Presentation Tools

Edoboard is a tool used to connect with students online. It allows students to look at your availability calendar and schedule a time when they can work with you online on a homework problem that they are struggling with, or just a question they have when studying for a test. It provides a webcam and a collaborative space to work in so that you can watch the student solving a problem and see what they are struggling with. Check out this screencast for more information. Tumblecloud is a great place for combining music, photos, and videos into projects of your own. It is also a useful tool to use in the classroom because when files are shared, they can be used collaboratively. For example, students could be given a homework assignment to take pictures of something like right angles, spheres, or cylinders. Those pictures could then be uploaded to a Tumblecloud site and made into a math video with music that will be fun and memorable. For more information, check out this screencast by Cheryl Kintz. ToonDoo is a fun site that allows you to create your own comic strip. I can see this being used in the classroom to demonstrate what has been learned about a certain subject. For example, after studying westward expansion, the 4th graders could create a comic about why Missouri was important to the people embarking on this journey.
